Sometimes I just don’t feel like cooking. Sometimes I just want something light and tasty, easy to make and healthy for me. If you feel like that sometimes too, try a smoothie!
I use plain 2% Greek yogurt as the base, add frozen fruits and a handful of spinach, and finish with a high protein liquid like milk, unsweetened soy milk, or a protein shake.
I’ve tried a few variations and used to add ice, but it never came out right. If you use frozen fruits in this recipe, you don’t need ice!
This recipe is rich in protein, vitamins, and fiber and uses NO added sugar; it truly doesn’t need it. Give it a try, and let me know what you think 🙂
Berry Spinach Smoothie
1 cup plain 2% Greek yogurt
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen bananas
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
handful of fresh spinach
1/4 cup unsweetened soy milk, skim milk, or vanilla ready-to-drink protein shake
Add all of the ingredients to the blender and mix thoroughly. Add more liquid for a thinner smoothie. Pour, top with fresh berries if you want and ENJOY!
