This past spring, I had a fantastic opportunity to intern with a unique, family-owned, local food service company- I.L. Creations. ILC runs large cafeteria operations at huge accounts including federal agency buildings. There are two fabulous dietitians on staff at ILC who get to work with chefs on recipe development, food demos for cafeteria patrons, nutrition education during lunch and learn sessions, and so much more. In my short time at ILC, I was asked to write a blog post for their June Wellness blog series about how to cook with less salt.
As I was researching spices as flavorful alternatives to salt, I realized that my post was taking on a life of it’s own. I’m a ‘go big or go home’ kind of woman so I offered to write the whole month’s worth of blog posts.
It was so fun to write this Spice Up Your Life series and share my love of food and flavor with a unique audience. There are 4 posts that highlight different cuisines, including ingredients and flavors, with tips, fun facts and great recipes to try!
